I recently purchased an old 470. It was urgently in need of some major paint work and repairs so I immediately stripped all the rigging to repair the hull etc. I am now trying to figure out a few rigging systems and need help from this forum. I have attached a coulple of images of parts of the rigging that I have yet to figure out. I'm hoping forum members can look at the attached images and e-mail suggestions as to how they may work.

Image A & A2: I have no idea what this big plastic pully is for, or the 2 wires coming off the axle and out of the side of the big black plastic pulley. The pulley and axle are immediately behind the mast base.

Image B & B2: This is a 1 meter long wire which goes through a small plastic single pulley shackled to the mast base as shown. It has a Pulley on 1 end of the wire and a open hook on the other.

Image C& C2: I understand the rectangle block is the forestay and it is roped back to the rear cockpit but what is the rope and the wire (with carabina attached 1/2way up the mast) for. Looking at images online it seems to attach to the spiniker pole. Also is the rope the spiniker halyard?

Image D: Is this the halyard for the main sheet and if so does it attach to a pulley or does it drag through the large hole (worn through) on the mast. I have tons of spare pulleys and could rig up or rivet in a better system.
Sorry this is not a tech race questions however I'm very much a recreational sailer.

I look forward to any and all coments and advice,

kind regards Graham Dunbar,Lake Wanaka, New Zealand.
