I am restoring an old 470 and have patched all the holes and am now trying to figure out some of the rigging. The boat has a Harken magic box on the mast. Is this for the jib halyard so that you can change the sweep of the mast? If so where does the rope go after it comes out of the magic box?
I also have questions about some of the pulleys next to the mast footing. In the attached picture you see a set of 3 blocks with one of the block hanging on the rope that the goes through the other 2 and then a rope going up to the deck. The back end of this rope goes down the floor on either side. See picture. Next to these blocks is another block next to the mast with a rope
going up to the deck.
If anyone is familiar with these let me know. I have figured out about %60 of the rigging and am going to set up the mast and then I am sure I will have more questions.
