Trap Harnesses Quick Release not until 2009

There is some confusion about "quick release" trap harnesses. ISAF changed the ruling so it doesn't take place until 2009. The Spinnaker Shop harness is still the class favorite http://www.spinnakershop.com/Trapeze%20Harness.htm . See Below:

Rule 40.2
The date in the note under rule 40.2 should be replaced as follows:

Note: This rule takes effect on 1 January 2009.

This change in the note to Rule 40.2 will apply immediately and effectively means that rule 40.2 will not take effect before the new edition of the Racing Rules of Sailing (2009-2012) will be published.

ISAF continues working on safety improvements and will publish information about quick release devices in January 2006 on the ISAF Website.
